E-type Club Weekend at XK60, Goodwood

XK60 Weekend at Goodwood & Cowdray Park

The feature-packed programme currently includes track action, displays, parades and demonstration laps, live music, specialist Jaguar exhibitors, lifestyle exhibitors, XK and XK-engined competitions, celebrity guests, rare cars, a fantastic auction of cars and automobilia by Bonhams and much more still to be announced. 

2008 is the 60th anniversary of the launch of Jaguar’s ground-breaking XK engine (which, of course, powers all but the V12 E-types). To mark this momentous event, a full programme of activities is being planned across two fabulous locations – historic Goodwood Circuit and beautiful Cowdray Park.

April 15: E-type Track Day at Goodwood

The E-type Club Track Day is:

  • Limited to 25 cars to ensure you enjoy plenty of track time

Le Mans Classic 2008 promises to be a superb event and we hope to be there in strength. Our travel specialists, Fiona Bayne & Paul Abadjian, have put together a wonderful package for the event. Fiona writes:

 

‘Your accommodation will be in a seventeenth-century Chateau about 22 miles outside Le Mans. The Chateau is owned and run by a Vicomte and Vicomtesse and is surrounded by exquisite grounds complete with roaming peacocks, swans and horses.

The setting for the event is Hartwell House, a truly magnificent stately home (now a hotel) standing in ninety acres of tranquil landscaped parkland. Illustrious former-residents have included the exiled French King, Louis XVIII, and the family of travel magnate, Thomas Cook.

 

Staff now look forward to welcoming E-type Club members to Hartwell – with or without their E-types.

  • Hartwell house enjoys excellent road connections and is just two miles west of the town of Aylesbury.
  • The E-type Club Spring Lunch includes three-course meal, plus coffee. It is priced at £35 per person.

The Chateau’s 8 rooms are all luxurious, very stylish, and en-suite. Many have four poster beds and are furnished throughout with antiques.

 

‘Dinner is cooked by the Vicomtesse herself, who is a gourmet chef. It is served in their wonderful dining room, surrounded by the silver that has belonged to 14 generations of this family. We have stayed in this Chateau and found it outstanding. Your cars are safely parked in the grounds of the chateau and it is a good base to explore the surrounding area.’

A day dedicated to enjoying the scenic roads, beautiful countryside and architecture of the Welsh Borders and Mid-Wales.

Starting at the Clive restaurant near Ludlow the Radnor Run will travel through the stunning Border’s countryside to the Radnorshire Arms in Presteigne, where coffee and Welsh cakes will be served. The route then continues to Abbey-Cwm-Hir, an incredible Victorian Gothic Hall, full of history and romance, set in 12 acres of beautiful grounds. Here participants will enjoy a buffet lunch, a guided tour of the house and full access to its stunning gardens. The route back to the A49 and home is another delightful example of fine driving, clear roads and fantastic scenery.
