I’m a very keen British car enthusiast with a out of control hobby but all fun. I caught the British bug at a young age with my first car, a Triumph Spitfire, and it never went away. Thankfully my wife is very understanding. The Spitfire was a horrible thing for parents to let their son drive year round in Canada. Here’s the current collection: 1935 Lagonda Rapier supercharged 1951 MG TD 1952 Jaguar XK120 FHC 1953 Allard K3 1958 Porsche 356A Coupe 1959 Austin Healey 3000 BN7 w/factory hardtop 1959 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite 1961 Lotus Elite S2 SE Super 95 w/ ZF transmission 1963 Jaguar E-type 3.8 FHC 1964 Jaguar E-type 3.8 OTS w/factory hardtop & a couple of newer Jaguars All of the above have been restored but all still get driven regularly. About half of the cars on the list, we have done full restorations on; the other half were bought restored and then had details corrected. We also show regularly at the Concours d’Elegance of America in St Johns, Michigan and at Canada’s top show – the Cobble Beach Concours in Kemble Ontario. We have also had cars shown at the Elegance at Hershey and most recently at the Amelia Island Concours.

Originally from Scotland we moved to Vancouver Canada in 1982. A transfer to the USA involved a couple of years in New York and ten in Portland, Oregon before moving back to a suburb of Vancouver in 2002. We have a 1967 Series 1 E-Type FHC and a 1974 Series 3 E-Type roadster both in good Concours condition. For daily use I have an F-Type (summer) and a XJR (winter) each with V8 supercharged engines.

As introduction, I have been involved with Jaguars since 1970 when I bought my first Jaguar, a 1967 E-type. Since that time, I have traded in Jaguars and had a restoration shop for many years specializing in Jaguars. My wife and I have been running the Red Rock Rallye for the past 16 years which has been a Club event. The thing I appreciate most about the club is its emphasis on using our cars. They are not static displays, and the most enjoyment comes from driving them. The club arranges many tours, and I myself participated in XK 60 put on by the Club in England and had a great time. The magazine is first rate, and I look forward to receiving it each month.

USA, North East: Day Krolik

Day Krolik covers: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania Day lives in New York. “I was born in Detroit, but my father was not  involved with the automobile industry. Nevertheless, I’ve been fascinated with cars from an early age, especially European sports cars. I started working on my uncle’s Jaguar XK 150 DHC (see photo) when it was new and I was 11 years old. I purchased the car from my uncle in 1964 and just sold it this February. In the intervening 48 years,  I personally rebuilt virtually every part of the car (some more than once) and have maintained and restored a number of other mostly British automobiles and motorcycles owned by myself and others. I purchased my 1967 OTS E Type (see photo) two years ago and have already, personally, performed extensive mechanical restoration work on the car. Since I sold my four motorcycles and the XK 150, my other current vehicles are a 740il BMW for family transport, a 1969 Jeep Commando (which I also restored) and a Porsche Boxster. I graduated from Dartmouth in 1970 and New York University School of Law in 1973. After two years at a law firm, I joined the National Broadcasting Company, now NBC Universal, in 1975. When I retired in May of 2010 I was Senior Vice President of Labor Relations and Talent Negotiations, responsible for labor relations and news and executive employment contracts for all aspects of the business: television, motion pictures and theme parks. I supervised a staff of thirty, split between New York and Los Angeles. I was invited to become an adjunct professor at NYU School of Law in 1998. Since then I have taught a full course each fall entitled Labor and Employment In the Entertainment Industry. Since my retirement from NBC Universal I’ve been able to devote more time to the Law School and now work with students on their major writing projects during the spring term.”

I grew up in San Antonio, Texas and am a retired Colonel, U.S. Air Force Medical Service, where I served in several positions, to include Hospital Commander in Sacramento CA and Deputy Command Surgeon for Air Force Materiel Command at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. After retirement, I founded and operated a medical equipment service company for 13 years and sold it and retired a second time in 2016. That was it for me! I acquired my first Jaguar shortly after, a rare 5-speed manual ’94 XJS convertible, which needed some restoration. My second Jaguar was a Canadian spec 2000 XJR, which required major restoration, to include a new supercharger and suspension mods. Won National 3rd Place Driver Division 2019. Very fast and have surprised many a local college student in their Mustang GTs. Both cars are now in a “mostly complete” 99% state of restoration, which is where they will remain forever while having fun with my judge friends on the remaining 1%. My first E-type is a ’66 Series I Coupe (4.2L) acquired from a high school friend in 2017. My friend and I have been restoring the car part time since then. It was a barn find with only 26,000 miles and stored since the early 70’s. It was completely drivable when I bought it. Everything except the radio and A/C worked. Most parts are reusable but a bolt by bolt restoration was required. I have been a member of the Jaguar Club of Houston for several years, where fellowship, food, fun and sharing knowledge are the order of the day, and the club events give us this opportunity. I look forward to extending this approach as the E-type Club rep for Texas.

USA Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC: Jeff Olson

I own a '74 Series 3 roadster in its original colors of Dark Blue over French Blue. I'm the second owner. Shortly after my acquisition in 2002, it received a bumperectomy (eliminating the US-spec black plastic battering rams), new Hartz Cloth top and boot cover, and, over the years, other cosmetic upgrades. For performance, poly bushings all around, Spax adjustable shocks and upgraded springs and torsion bars, Wilwood calipers, and the most significant improvement, a new steering rack that eliminated the grossly over-boosted, numb original power steering. Still not as crisp as the '66 FHC that I had in the mid-70s, but a transformational improvement. The car has about 74K miles at the moment, of which some 40K are mine. On average the car sees 3-5K miles each year, mostly in fairly brisk rallies. It is the founding car of two back roads events centered in Northern Virginia. The first, started in 2006, is the Great Falls Dawn Patrol, a semi-annual 250-mile half-day run that was established primarily for E-types. The second, started in 2017 and which typically runs in mid-October, is the Washington, DC-area edition of the America's British Reliability Run, a 3-day, 600+ mile event for classic British cars, all to raise money for a children's charity.

USA Washington State, Oregon: Steve Bruce

My obsession with E-types began in my teens, with a 17-year-old friend who got his hands on a 1965 OTS with a bad clutch. Once that was repaired, I discovered the feel, steering and performance, which were unlike anything I had experienced in American cars. Since then, I have owned a series of E-types, including several Series I Coupes, several 2+2s and, most recently, a 1968 OTS. I’ve also recently completed a restoration of a 1964 3.8 Coupe (my wife’s and my daily driver cars now sit out in the weather year-round). Both cars get regular exercise, weather permitting, and the 1964 Coupe has been treated to several upgrades, including alternator conversion, allsynchro gearbox and improved front brakes, as well as a 2.88:1 rear axle switch for more relaxed highway cruising. I look forward to enjoying the company of other Club members, and getting and giving advice regarding all of the aspects of ownership of these remarkable cars.
